It only opened its doors two years ago, but already The Crossing Point Cafe has earned a glowing reputation with locals and visitors alike.
The last two years have seen the Kirkby Lonsdale cafe celebrate a number of accolades, including winning gold for ‘Independent Cafe of the Year’ at the Cafe Life Awards and reaching the finals of the Cumbria Life Food and Drinks Awards.
The cafe was also a recipient of Trip Advisor’s prestigious Certificate of Excellence and has been listed as one of the top 200 places to eat in Cumbria by Cumbria Life, it also recently received a name check in The Guardian newspaper about the highlights of Kirkby Lonsdale.
Owners John and Renata Strange reveal their recipe for success is simply a passion for good, wholesome, locally-sourced food that is cooked with care and served with a smile.
John said: “The Crossing Point Cafe is the result of everything we have learned and loved from our experience working in the hospitality industry over the years, including the importance of the right ingredients and the best service.”
Renata said: “We’re thrilled and proud to be celebrating our second anniversary, this combined with the accolades we’ve achieved over the last two years makes this an extra special milestone. But we couldn’t have done it without the tremendous support from our customers and local businesses, and we’d like to say thank you to everyone who has visited us – whether you’ve popped in for a cup of tea and slice of cake, or have enjoyed being wined and dined.”
John added: “We would also like to welcome new customers to come along in the New Year and see what we have to offer. Our popular Wednesday ‘Winesday’ evenings were on hold throughout December as we were really busy in the run-up to Christmas, but they’re coming back soon and are always good fun. We also have some more exciting plans to reveal in 2017 – watch this space…”
