MP Drinks To Success Of MATTGRAY Hospitality

Selby MP Nigel Adams has joined two local entrepreneurs in raising a glass to celebrate the success of their growing hospitality business.

The parliamentarian visited The Drovers Arms, at Skipwith, which is run by partners Graham Usher and Matt Rose who launched their MATTGRAY Hospitality Consultants company at the beginning of this year.

In addition to the Drovers, which they took over five years ago, the pair recently added The Castle Inn, Cawood, to their portfolio, and are now looking at adding a further two.

Both existing pubs, which have become must-visit destinations for real ale lovers and foodies alike, have reported record sales for the first quarter of the year, and this trend has also continued throughout April, May and into June.

Mr Adams said: “It is always a pleasure to visit local businesses, particularly those that are riding the wave of success. Having run my own business, I know and understand the daily pressures.

“It was great to meet Graham and Matt and learn about their plans. I wish them, and MATTGRAY, all the very best for the future and will certainly drop in again for a pint and a bite to eat.”

Graham Usher said: “We were delighted to share our achievements with Mr Adams. We are very proud of what we have accomplished in a relatively short period of time at both the Drovers Arms and Castle Inn.

“Mr Adams even managed to have the time to enjoy glass of our ‘On The hoof’ ale, which has been especially created for us by Ainsty Ales.”

Matt Rose said: “Pubs are the hub of many communities and that is certainly the case with Skipwith and Cawood.

“Our pubs have what we believe to be a winning combination - great service, excellent food and a wonderful choice of ales, spirits and wines.”
